What should I do when my engineering deadline is close?

My engineering assignment is due very soon, and I still have a lot of work left. Some classmates mentioned urgent engineering assignments when talking about last-minute coursework. I do not want to panic and rush through everything without understanding it. I want to use the time I have wisely and finish the most important parts first. I am already feeling stressed about the deadline. What should I focus on first?
