A Bit About Leo & Maricar
After relocating from South Philly to Washington in 2017, Leo fell in love with the charm and pace of Central Washington. Maricar, born in Hawaii and raised in Renton, shared his dream of building something rooted in good food and good people.
During the pandemic, they took a leap. Testing out their cheesesteaks at the Ellensburg Farmers Market. The response was immediate and heartwarming. With community support and a lot of hustle, 509 Philly Stop was born.
Together, Leo and Maricar are building more than a food truck, they’re building a gathering place. One where East Coast nostalgia meets small-town hospitality.

Leo and Maricar Perrone opened 509 Philly Stop, bringing authentic East Coast cheesesteaks and comfort food to Central Washington. Their passion for good food and real connection quickly turned first-time customers into loyal fans.
As word spread, so did demand. The menu grew to include pasta dinners, hoagies, and other East Coast staples that reminded people of home—or gave them a taste of something new.
The 509 Philly Stop trailer hit the streets, bringing the food you love to local events and neighboring towns. The community showed up big, and the trailer became a favorite at pop-ups and festivals.
With love from their customers came merch—hats, tees, and hoodies that let fans wear their Philly Stop pride everywhere they go.
Their full menu became available for easy online ordering, making it even simpler to grab your go-to cheesesteak, whether you’re local or just passing through.
509 Philly Stop continues to serve up real food with real heart. Built by locals, backed by community, and proud to be a staple in Kittitas.
